In 2004 I learned how to meditate in Mexico where I was born and raised. The changes to my life were so profound that I decided to dedicate my life to explore “the space” that is experienced through meditation. After a six month training, I graduated as a mediation teacher of The Bright Path. In 2006 I began to teach The Bright Path meditation techniques and offer retreats around the world.
What I enjoy the most of all is to connect personally with people, do yoga, meditate, going for walks at the beach and buying shoes. My favorite season is summer, which in Vancouver are only one or two months a year. I am still learning how to like the cloudy and rainy days.
I believe that we have everything within to enjoy life and that suffering is optional. We can learn to be wise enough to listen to ourselves and be in tune with our body. I help people through weekend meditation courses to learn how to observe the subtleties of the mind and go beyond the constant chatter that can keep you awake at night.
I currently live in Vancouver, British Columbia where I work as a Meditation Instructor, Graphic Artist and Senior Program Assistant at UBC. If you want to connect with me send me an e-mail or visit my Facebook, blog and Twitter accounts.
Rick de Champlain
I was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1975 and I currently live in Vancouver, British Columbia where I work as an Electrician. I am the author of A Path of Joy, The Way of Nothing and Without You There.
I first learned how to meditate in 1999. Since then I have dedicated my life to exploring and sharing the freedom of this path. In 2003 I began to teach meditation and offer retreats based on the teachings of The Bright Path. These teachings reveal all that is required to walk this path with joy. I teach that the silence and the humility of not taking yourself seriously are the foundations to seeing that you are already free.
