I do a little ritual everyday before going to bed. I commit to saying out loud what I am celebrating at the end of my day. I found that this keeps me on the positive side, appreciating, instead of complaining on what went wrong or what I am lacking.
By staying positive (appreciating what I have) I find myself with more energy, enthusiasm and remember my New Year's resolution all year. So with excitement I say out loud:
Today I celebrate that...
- I sent out 20 e-mails with no mistakes
- It was a sunny day
- I was lucky enough to drink water from the tap (so many people around the world walk miles to drink a glass of water)
- It was a refreshing day, it rained all day (regular day in Vancouver)
- I saw a full rainbow
Now, the exercise will be to give yourself ten minutes to close your eyes and say the following statement:
Today I celebrate that…
